President Barack Obama’s already-lofty level of support among Latino voters has reached a new high, according to the latest weekly tracking poll from Latino Decisions released Monday.
The poll shows Obama earning the support of 73 percent of Latino voters, while Romney trails with the support of only 21 percent. It’s the first time Obama has exceeded 70 percent in the six weeks that Latino Decisions has conducted its tracking surveys. This week’s installment also shows that more than 70 percent of Latino voters trust Obama over Romney on issues related to the economy, women, the Middle East and Latin America.
Seeking to hold on to the state he turned from solidly red to blue, President Obama told Virginia voters tonight that they hold the key to victory in November.
“If I win Virginia, I’m going to get four more years, that I can say with some confidence,” the president told supporters in Roanoke.
In 2008, Obama ended decades of Republican domination in Virginia, when he became the first Democratic candidate to carry the state since Lyndon Johnson in 1964.
“Here we are again, Virginia. The eyes of the nation are going to be on us again,” Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., said ahead of the president’s remarks this evening. “In 2008, we changed the guard. In 2012 we’re going to guard the change.”
We’re looking at you, Virginia

“It’s tempting to think every major-party frontrunner emerges from a primary process with weakened favorability numbers — intra-party contests are often bruising — but that’s just not the case. Four years ago, Obama became better liked as voters got to know him, but this year, Romney isn’t just disliked, he’s also more disliked at this point in the process than any candidate in nearly three decades.”
It’s the classic “the more you get to know me, the less you like me” Republican defect. See Rudy Giuliani, Rick Perry, Sarah Palin, and pretty much all the GOP candidates the past two election cycles.
Awwwwwww no one likes Mittens
You know you’re a little bit too into politics when all you can think about at work is, getting home and reading The Supreme Court Justices’ arguments regarding Obamacare.
I’m anxiously waiting for how this ruling will turn out tomorrow.
Gloria Steinem Supports President Obama
Alexandra Pelosi in New York for Real Time
This is a rebuttal due to the fact that Pelosi got a lot of shit from republicans and conservatives for this video last week. Its wrong when people take advantage of the system like this, yes, but as a liberal, it would be far more disgusting to me to just shun these people and not try to provide them with necessities. Whether they are lazy or not, you dont just give up on them, its inhumane.
Also, theres one guy in there that solidifies the reality of the situation here - the one guy that said its hard to get a job because of his background - thats the real problem
In a video following his encounter with Obama. Stephon, in sign language, says:
Hello, I would love to share my experience; something that I will not forget for rest of my life. Today was a special day for me, and I was preparing for it. It was announced yesterday, March 14, for everyone to receive tickets to see none other than the President of the United States, Barack Obama!
…..
The moment I will never forget was when he looked at me. He gave me a chance to talk to him. It was like he was waiting for me to say something. I took the moment and signed ‘I am proud of you,’ and his response was ‘Thank u’ in sign language back!
Oh my gosh! I was like wow! He understood me after I said I was proud of him. It was so amazing…I was just speechless. Right after he thanked me, he smiled at another deaf lady who signed ‘I love you.
When I shook his hand it did not feel like he was superior to me. He was just a humble man. I am just impressed by him and know that he will have my vote and he will win second term without a doubt. Yeah, I feel safe to have him for another term.
