B.B King - Sweet Sixteen/Lucille (Live-1971)
Breaking from Bruce with some awesome B.B King tonight.
This is so cool - B.B telling the story of Lucille, as he replaces a broken string.Seattle - May 30th 1971
Man……….This is too amazing.
(Folks who don’t know - ‘Lucille’ is what he called his guitar)
“Still A Fool” by Muddy Waters
Muddy Waters was always a charmer, and had a lighter touch than his chief rival, Howlin’ Wolf, but you wouldn’t know it from this record. “Still A Fool”—which Keith Richards once called “the birth of Chicago Blues”—is dark, brooding, simmering with rage and lust. She done him wrong but he still wants her, for reasons that have nothing to do with love.
“Everyone who has finished high school is smart enough to know that god is bullshit. The only reason most people keep faith is because of their upbringing, like me, they don’t want to upset or disappoint their parents, even at my age - I feel like I have to say I believe in something for them, but that’s where it ends - Religion is something that sticks when it’s not payed attention to early in life; we all know there is no such thing as a god”
Yesterday I found out my dad is a closeted agnostic……which is awesome. He told me this after a conversation we were having about how his brother (my uncle) is starting to become an extreme Christian, needless to say, it’s starting to annoy him.
He’d say………….nothing. Imaginary beings have no reasonable input of judgment on a woman’s choice. Stop talking to imaginary people.

Anon, look! we can cherry pick, too
I find it humorous how they’ll throw these cheerful, pleasant, loving little quotes at you to depict god as this all loving entity. If you’re gonna feed me some bullshit, give me all of it. Don’t dilute whats already there just so you can render a faulty image. The truth is - for every one benevolent quote, there are two horrific ones. The Bible is a disturbing piece of literature, people are just predisposed to the “nice” bits; you’re not gonna find a poster of a father fornicating with his first born daughter hanging up in an elementary school, they’d much rather have one of Moses with all the cute little animals.
Scientists have long drawn connections between the decline of the ancient Maya and environmental catastrophes, especially drought. Deforestation linked with farming could also have triggered disaster — for instance, reduced tree cover of the ground would have led to loss of fertile topsoil by erosion, as well as greater evaporation of water by sunlight, exacerbating drought.
Moreover, archaeologists have pointed out that ancient Mayan societies may have been vulnerable to collapse by their very nature. They apparently funneled wealth to a small ruling elite topped by hereditary divine kings, who had virtually unlimited power but whose subjects expected generosity — a string of military defeats or seasonal droughts could greatly damage their credibility. The stability of this system was further threatened by polygamy among rulers, spawning numerous lineages that warred against each other, overall generating conditions ripe for collapse.
How the fuck do these people get to elected positions?
Religion elects these people into office, sadly. Religion outweighs politics and actual policy change in the US. Its really quite sad. All they gotta say is “God told me to run” (which just sounds delusional to me) and their poll numbers will go up.

At least one source close to the Palin family in Wasilla, Alaska, has confirmed that Palin “still believes it is God’s will” that she serve as president, if not in 2012 then perhaps in 2016. Every move she has made in recent months — every attack on Romney and Obama, every push for an elongated primary, every speculation about an open convention — has been issued with this political calculation in mind.
Palin has been consistent about four things since she announced her decision not to enter the Republican primaries last October:
1) She has strongly and vociferously attacked GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney;
2) She has embraced the idea of an endless primary season and has encouraged all four of the remaining candidates to stay in the race — her sole purpose being the outcome of a brokered GOP convention in Tampa;
3) She has continued with her obsessive assault on Barack Obama, positioning herself as the “anti-Obama” among the conservative Republican base;
4) And, she has made it clear now on several occasions that she is “open” to accepting the GOP nomination in Tampa.
In the aftermath of the devastating portrayal of Palin in HBO’s Game Change, Palin’s once-close political associate in Alaska, the good-government activist Andree McLeod, told me yesterday:
“People can laugh all they want, but she ain’t done. She’s only developed a tougher skin through all ‘this’ and, out of desperation, has to inflict more damage for reasons only Sarah and her constantly-changing set of patrons knows. She has become even more dangerous and desperate.”
Let me just put in my 2 cents about this really quick:
Palin isnt going anywhere. First of all, shes what, like the 5th clown in the car to say that its “Gods will” for them to become president? Gods kinda been striking out since the only one left to make this claim is Santorum, and his chances are slim to none. Kinda starting to picture God as this drunk guy at Vegas just gambling his life away, just me though
She is just making some incomprehensible noise, like the buffoon that she is, so she can stay somewhat relevant in politics. (theres a part in this article about how skeptical people are about her being serious, and yes, i am.) At the end of the day, shes gonna stay at Foxnews and keep screaming and flapping her arms around, along with Hannity, spreading the bullshit. Thats the really sad truth though, shes gonna stay on TV…
