Currently reading “True Compass” the memoir of the “Lion” himself, Ted Kennedy. I’ve only read 1 other biographical book (Jimi Hendrix bio, “Room Full of Mirrors”), so I thought I’d read another to mix it up a bit. Was gonna get “Elusive Hero” the John F. Kennedy bio, but I came to the conclusion that even though I’m a huge fan of Ted Kennedy, I’m not that informed about his entire political career, let alone life.
I’ve really been lacking in the whole update/review the books I’m reading department. Just checked and the last book I posted anything about on here was Carl Sagan’s Cosmos; I’ve read 5 or 6 other books since then hahah. I literally jump from book to book without stopping, so the thought of making a post always gets forgotten. I’ll try do a better job at keeping you guys updated on what I read.
So, today i was clearing out this apartment (helping out my mom with her business) and throwing everything out. while i was skimming through all the books in the bookshelf, I just so happen to look down at my feet and lo and behold there was a perfect hardcover copy of Cosmos on the floor, upside down…….I felt like i won the damn lottery. ive wanted this book forever. Goodbye for a couple of days society. i am happy
on the back theres a super sexy portrait of this beautiful man. nice
Getting some more needed Huxley into my brain. reading “Island” by Aldous Huxley. Supposedly to be his most important work (according to himself)b, last novel he ever wrote, and it says its a counter point to Brave New World. Excited :-)
Been failing to post and hash out my opinion on every book I read. Im gonna try to do that more often. But, you guys should know bout Huxley already, Brave New World should be thought in Middle School in my opinion, and The Doors of Perception kinda did what it was meant to do… open doors….not literal doors….the doors in your mind…..yeah…..deeep…..hahah and yeah Crome Yellow, Ape and Essence are all great. one of my all time favorites, he tends to get a little philosophical, and im a sucker for philosophy. so I will do my best to remember to post my after thoughts on this when im done.
